Inventive Ideas: Climbing Walls for the House
If you’ve watched Princess Diaries, you know that even the clumsiest of princesses can use a climbing wall as a means of relaxation. A climbing wall is an artificial wall that can be used with inside the house as well as outside.
You can create your own climbing wall at home and can choose from different materials; the most common one would be plywood or if you can you can use granite, fiberglass or even large trees; now if you live near a cliff, you can try it out there itself but it is fairly easy to create a home climbing wall; however try reading more about it on DIY websites to make it a secure place of fun for your children.
At home for example, with your toddlers put something soft like a mattress in case you don’t have security hook; in that case your child can fall securely on the mattress and not hurt his back or head. In the garden, you can create a sandpit which is less likely to hurt than gravel.
Now I read an article on indoor climbing walls in children’s room and there is this innovative idea; I just have to share with you in case you didn’t know; climbing a wall up and down can become boring however, you can try a very creative idea like making the climbing wall lead to another room; for example he or should could climb his way to his reading room or to his playroom that would be on the next level.
In fact, you can have this done for you when you are creating the house. If not you can try making the door leading to the other room like a trap door so that it feels as if your child is a pirate. If you wish you can adjust a climbing wall to your slanted roof so that it gives of this Spiderman theme; you can even add a net for him or her to fall on after she has finished climbing, for the fun effect.
Wall climbing is a fun thing to do; it is athletic and adventurous at the same time, if you cannot find the time to go do in a gym or studio; try doing it at home; just bear in mind that if you don’t know how to do it by yourself that you need the help of a professional.
If not, then start climbing and show how much fun this can be to your kids.Back To Top.
